Responding to the Tariff Engagement Document published today, Chair of our Finance Forum Andrew Pepper said “The planned shift to a multi-year tariff is welcome and something that we have been calling for, as it will increase certainty and provide increased stability not only for our member CCGs but also across the whole system. Of course this makes it additionally crucial that we get the right prices set to support commissioners and providers to deliver the best care possible for patients.”

Our response to today’s announcements on NHS finances and the 15/16 CCG assessment results highlights both the importance of learning from those CCGs who have done well, and the provision of meaningful support for those for which need it. It also reinforces how the financial measures announced show the strains being felt across the whole of the health and care system, and demonstrate that we need an open debate about what the NHS can realistically deliver with its current level of funding.

Following the release of the national tariff proposals at the start of August, NHSCC will be hosting a webinar with Chris Skillbeck, Sector Involvement Manager, Pricing, NHS Improvement and Stephen Fenton Pricing Development Manager (Governance) NHS England to provide members with the opportunity to ask questions and give feedback on the draft prices.
